Frequently Asked Questions

Pearl Scan stands out through over 23 years of experience, ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and ISO 14001 accreditation, and a genuinely end-to-end service – from secure collection through to OCR, indexing and ongoing document management via Pearl Cloud. Every project gets a dedicated Project Manager and a free, no-obligation quote.

Yes. Pearl Scan holds ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 27001 (Information Security Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) certification, alongside BS 10008 compliance for legally admissible scanning. These accreditations apply across every scanning service on this page.

It depends on what you’re digitising and at what scale. If you have everyday business documents, our Document Scanning service covers it. If you’re clearing large volumes – 50 boxes or more – Bulk Document Scanning is built for that scale. For historical, legacy or inactive records you need to retain but rarely access, Archive Scanning is the right fit. Not sure which applies? Get in touch and we’ll recommend the right service for your project at no cost.

Bulk scanning is about volume – digitising large quantities of active or recently active documents quickly and at scale. Archive scanning is about condition and purpose – handling historical, fragile or inactive records that need specialist preparation and archival-quality output. A project can be both: a large archive clearance often uses our bulk infrastructure with archive-level preparation and resolution.

Almost certainly. Between our range of specialist services we cover virtually every paper, photographic, microform and legacy media format. If you’re unsure where your project fits, contact us with a brief description and we’ll point you to the right service – or scope a bespoke solution if it’s genuinely unusual.

Yes – this is common. A single archive clearance might combine bulk scanning, large format scanning and microfiche conversion under one Project Manager and one delivery schedule. Tell us what you’re working with and we’ll build a combined quote rather than asking you to commission services separately.
