What is text recognition (OCR)?
Text recognition, otherwise known as optical character recognition (OCR) and can be really useful when you have got a paper document you want in digital editable form such as Word document, Excel Spreadhseet or Text Searchable PDF.
You need a scanner to create an image of the document first and once you have the image, it can be run through an OCR application that will read each character and attempt to recreate the original document as text. It's not regularly perfect, but with a high-quality scan you can come very close.
Pearl Scan provides the scanning and OCR conversion services, you can contact us to discuss your requirements.
