New and improved document management system software implemented by the Countryside Council for Wales
Date: 08/05/2008
The Countryside Council for Wales is upgrading its records and document management using Trim Context electronic document and records management (EDRM) software.
The council has around 500 users throughout 15 offices and other locations in Wales and the system has been implemented to give these users a better document and records management system, helping office processes run much more smoothly.
The sudden change in information growth through the council has alerted management who have realised how difficult it was to share and find important Council documents easily, quickly and efficiently.
Tower software developed a system which ties in with document scanning to give employees a simple user friendly interface including search capabilities that would help with in depth document searches and any collaboration.
Council staff explained that the functionality already existed it was just a case of personalising the system and get it up and going. The first few staff were trained to use the program in two months and it was then expanded through all departments which will eventually mean that all of the council offices will have the document management system in place with all required staff fully trained to use it.
The Council hopes to have around 10,000 documents input into its EDRM system by June 2008.
