Nationwide Buidling Society choose EDM to take care of their scanning and document management

Nationwide Building Society has turned to a document management and scanning service to gain flexible access to its 2.5 million customer files (around 200 million + paper documents) and 1 million microfiche (40 million pages). They have chosen UK-based EDM Group's Scan on Demand business solution for easy access to all archived customer data which will be managed at a site in Wolverhampton, EDM scan and upload archived documents to EDM online which gives Nationwide instant access to archived customer data which helps Nationwide provide a fully auditable and efficient system.
This scanning and online hosting service enables access to client records for Nationwide staff which improves the overall service to their customers. EDM Group scans the documents then uploads them their web hosted service 'EDM online' which is then made available to Nationwide employees through secure online access across branches.
A five year contract has been secured for the service which is part of an ongoing business strategy in which the phase goes from concept to live service in under 6 months. As a result EDM has expanded their Wolverhampton processes as well as providing their scanning and hosting service.
Nationwide met their objective which was to gain a corporate-wide archive and retrieval system that addressed their requirements, and regulations. All this has been achieved without increasing their cost base. Users have responded very positively to the service given by EDM and retrieval times have been reduced to a few seconds.
