Date: 12/06/2008

Fujitsu Siemens computers has set up a system platform for its boardroom and management committee developed by Brainloop secure Dataroom which enables sharing of confidential enterprise information in a highly secure environment.

Any sensitive confidential documents used in board meetings such as personnel plans, budgets and financial figures are managed as a collection of documents which can be downloaded by board room members where and whenever they require them.
These are protected with Microsoft Rights management system which appealed to Fujitsu Siemens who placed importance on protection from unauthorised viewing and a meticulous audit trail.

Head of IT infrastructure and support at Fujitsu Siemens explained: “We are so satisfied with the solution that we plan to spread out the system further and keep our eyes open for further application areas.”

Staff explained that Microsoft Rights Management Service (RMS) was chosen for its high security levels, ease of use and productivity. They particularly appreciated that they can access the complete documentation of a nine hour board meeting.

Microsoft RMS is designed to encrypt office documents to stop any forwarding, printing, copying and editing. Any access permissions are copied to their desktops keeping with the policy for every protected document identified in the data room. This permission also expires as specified by the particular corporate policy. Two factor authentication is used as a security procedure for the document management system.
