Document Management helps Manchester manufacturer Hubron save £25,000 a year with the aid of document scanning
Date: 30/04/2008
Hubron, a Manchester based manufacturing and Distribution Company is saving around £25,000 a year by using document management and imaging systems within the company.
They have implemented the systems at chemicals distributor Hubron Speciality, plastics components manufacturer Hubron International and also pharmaceutical packing company Pharmaserve. The idea is to improve steady fulfilment of quality control and testing.
Using systems developed by Version One Hubrons IT staff claim this has helped them greatly in dealing with the strict regulations that affect the industry. Combining with Hubrons core systems it has allowed the automation of processes such as electronically delivering digital versions of certificates with dispatch notes straight to the customers.
Staff have also claimed the by automating such processes it has freed up time and eliminated the chance of error in the process. Savings on cost have come from eliminating pre-printed paper, reducing postage costs, and freeing up an hour of staff time every day.
Hubron aims to use Version One’s electronic document management system throughout its business so that documents are stored electronically in the future. This would save them another £15,000 a year.
The next step for the company is to utilise the tools and make documents such as invoices and certificates of analysis available to customers online. The choice to use document scanning and Version One’s document management system was made easier by the fact that it was able to integrate with their existing IT system and staff found it easy to use.
