Document management affordable for small businesses

With the economy suffering at the moment many businesses are taking advantage of document management systems to streamline their business flow, save costs and improve efficiency in as many areas as possible. By having files scanned in they are cutting down the costs and use of paper while speeding up administrative duties and document handling time.
Recently more document management companies such as Pearl Scan Solutions have stated they are reducing prices to meet the needs of smaller and medium sized businesses. In-house document management stations are also becoming more affordable with a two to four user system available for around £1300 which includes a scanner and a few licenses. Just purchasing a scanner and running some training to develop paperless approach can save a company thousands.
By having the document electronically converted it can be viewed at any department and can be distributed much faster than a paper copy with the originals also shredded. Not to mention the storage space saved once paper copies are no longer required.
As there are more serious court cases against companies for mis-management of records these days it also gives the company owners more peace of mind knowing records can be backed up and stored safely at different locations while keeping to legislation and compliance laws.
